My name is David Mahoney, I'm 24 years old and based in London. I am a Photographer and love doing what I do. I decided to make @dmahoney.automotive & @davidmahoney.photos on instagram to share my passion for cars and photography with others and have been given good feedback on my work so it's inspired me to make it more of a career rather than a hobby, here on this site are some of my favourite pieces. 

I've been a petrolhead ever since I was little, I'll always watch Top Gear and admired the cars that they presented, I would on a rare occasion go into central London with my family and rather then look forward to shopping in Harrods or Hamleys I would always prefer seeing the supercars around London. Fast forwarding ahead I made a Instagram account and found out about car spotting, I found it to be an amazing hobby to consider doing but I was young and had a massive anxiety about travelling alone, in 2016 I attended the 'Passione Ferrari' event at Silverstone and there I saw cars I never thought I'd get to see and hear, and at that event I also had my first experience sitting in a supercar which was a Ferrari 488 Spider In Giallo Modena (Yellow). After that event I finally decided to overcome my anxiety by becoming more independent and in 2017 I started spotting.

​As far as education, I went to City of Westminster College for 2 years doing Motor Vehicles because I figured it was the only thing car related that was possible for me to do, but as I went through my second year of mechanics I lost my motivation, and even though I finished I didn't find it to be a career I wanted, so I took a gap year to find out what I wanted to do with my life. At the time I was still car spotting and by the end of my first year of doing it I had more then 1000 followers and had good feedback on my pictures so then I figured that Photography could be a career choice, so in 2019 I applied for Photography at Lambeth College and fell in love with Photography ever since I started.
